Love & amathongo

There are infinite reasons why relationships break up. Incompatibility. Mistrust. Anger. Infidelity. Fear of ‘abantu bazothini’ and others’ expectations. Abuse, manipulation and the inability to uphold the pretence anymore is of course top of the list, and I’m talking about physical, emotional and spiritual abuse.

On this mother’s day, I thought it’s fitting to talk about LOVE, a subject that troubles many.

Izigodlo are filled with people seeking wisdom on Umaqondana / soul mate. Then there are hordes of people willing to go to the dark side, ‘bringing back lost lovers’ and all that rhetoric. Even though I agree that some love is broken through a 3rd party’s hex or intervening, but most relationships fail because people are not compatible
